Amazing Week

Wow, the time is flying by so fast! This week was an amazing week!
Tuesday, was Hermana Romeril´s birthday! I made her pancakes for breakfast. Then we went to La Costanera and visited Jorge and Cerafina (I found out I´ve been spelling her name wrong) and a less active family, P----. Then we had lunch at the bishop´s house. We had asado which is like barbeque, but Argentine style. It was really good! Just a lot of meat . . . a lot. Also, there was blood sausage. They love blood sausage and I´m not a huge fan. I can eat it, but I´d rather not. :) Then we had to go to the V------ family´s house. They called us and told us to come, not telling us why. We went and they had made Hermana Romeril a cake. A huge cake with dulce de leche inside and out! It was delicious! After that, we did some contacting. I tried to make it a special day for Hermana Romeril. I hope she enjoyed her day. :)

Wednesday we had district meeting. That took up the morning. After lunch, we visited the M------- family, but they weren´t there, so we went to the V------ family. Then we got the house ready because the Sister Training Leaders were coming the next day.

Thursday we went out with the Sister Training Leaders. I was with Hermana Wade. She´s from Arizona. She was really nice! She came on her mission last January so she´s kind of like me, just a year ahead. In the morning, we made a few contacts and visited Hermana M---------. Her husband isn´t a member and we asked her why. She said that he just doesn´t want it. She also said that after 15 years of trying, she´s stopped pushing it. I imagine it´d be hard. We had lunch with a sort of less active family and had churripan. It was delicious!!!! Then we had weekly planning and interviews with the other hermanas. Then Hermana Wade and I visited the family V------ and Angie and Emanuel shared their conversion stories. It was really fun to hear their stories! Then we met Hermana Romeril and Hermana Regalado at the church to teach English. After that, the other hermanas had to leave to their area and Hermana Romeril and I went to a lesson with Mauricio´s family. We taught lesson 3, the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It went really well! The parents are getting baptized on Saturday!!!!!!! We are so excited!

Friday we had studies and our lunch [appointment] couldn´t give us food at her house, but she brought it to us in the pension. Homemade pizza! Then we went to La Costanera for a bunch of appointments. Some of them fell through, though. But we did have a lesson with Jorge and Cerafina, and Jorge prayed! Then we contacted the M------- family (part member family) and we have some appointments with them!

Saturday we went to La Costanera and visited Cerafina and then Sebastian. We had lunch in the pension and then we taught Graciela in the church. She feels really alone. I feel bad for her. No one wants to feel alone. Everyone needs to know that someone cares about them and that there´s hope. I hope we helped. Then a member, Elizabeth Diaz, picked us up to go talk to her friend who lost her mom about a month ago. Her friend, Mari, is great! She has such a sweet spirit! Then we made some contacts from references. Reyna A------ and then Manuela. They are great!

Sunday we had Haydeé, Adelmo and Valeria (Mauricio´s family) come to church! It was great! Also, Mauricio recieved the priesthood and he is going to baptized his family on Saturday! Then we had lunch with la familia A------ and then interviews and *consejo de barrio (no sé cómo se dice en inglés. Lo siento). Then we visited Mauricio´s family. It was a good day!

At the beginning of last week, our zone leaders told us that we needed to get 20 new investigators. That´s a lot and we were really stressed out. But, by Saturday night, we had exactly 20 new investigators! And, Haydeé and Adelmo (Mauricio´s parents) are getting baptized on Saturday!!! We are really excited!!!!

I hope that you are all doing well!!! I love you all so much!!!!!!!
Have a fantastic week!!!

The Prompting Spirit

 Hey y´all!!!

This week was really good, but we didn´t get a lot of proselytizing done because we kept having to go to Córdoba. We tried really hard, though.

On Tuesday, we went to Córdoba in the morning because my zone was in charge of a musical number for Zone Conference on Wednesday. Only five people could sing and I was one of them. They also gave me a solo. Practice went well, though. When we got back, we had lunch, visited a recent convert, Juan Peñalosa, and then went to teach Mauricio´s family. They are really funny! There´s the mom, Heida, the dad, Adelmo, and a sister, Valeria.

On Wednesday, we had Zone Conference! It was amazing! I loved it! It was really inspiring and uplifting! Also, the song from my zone went well, so that was good. When we got home, we didn´t have much time. It was late. But we visited Dora before going back to the pension. We told Dora that Hermana Romeril was most likely going to be leaving in two weeks and Dora was so sad. Transfers are right before Dora´s birthday too. She is so cute, though, and told us that before Hermana Romeril leaves we are having lunch at her house. She doesn’t have much money at all, but she is determined.

On Thursday, we did all of our studies in the morning. Then we had lunch with a family. They have a 7-year-old son who would not stop talking. He was so cute. In the afternoon, we visited the Vazquez family and then visited Dora. Then we had another lesson with Mauricio´s family. The mom told us that they were a little worried about their baptism, though. She said that she didn´t feel prepared. We told her that we didn´t feel that she was prepared right now either, but that the 30th is a goal and if, by that time, she still doesn´t feel ready, that´s ok. We´ll postpone. That helped her a lot.

Friday we had district meeting in the morning, but it went a little long and so Hermana Romeril and I missed our lunch appointment. We thought that the elders had confirmed it, but they hadn´t really, so we ate lunch in the pension. Which isn´t too bad, really. Then we took a little nap because I wasn´t feeling too hot. After that, I was feeling a bit better and we went to visit Vazquez again. We love that family so much!

On Saturday, we were able to go to the Cultural Celebration in Córdoba! It was amazing!!!! The dances were beautiful! President Uchtdorf was there and he spoke for a bit. It was kind of funny because he had a translator but he didn´t know when the translator was done, so they just sort of talked over each other. I love President Uchtdorf!!!

Sunday we were able to see the dedication. It was broadcasted to our church. It was beautiful! After the first session, we were about to walk to our pension, when Graciela (investigator of the elders) came. She was expecting there to be church, but of course it was the dedication. She had no idea. She left and Hermana Romeril and I went to go to the pension. After walking a block, Hermana Romeril stopped and told me that we were going to do a service and we went running after Graciela. Graciela doesn’t feel comfortable in the church and so it is really surprising that she would come. We knew something was up. When we caught up to her, (she thought we were crazy) we started talking and Hermana Romeril shared a scripture. Graciela opened up to us in a way that she never had to the elders. After talking to her for a while we said a prayer because she was not feeling well. She said that she felt better afterwards. It was a really amazing experience.

This work is amazing! I love it out here! I hope you all are doing well and that you´ve had an amazing week! Keep on keepin´ on (as one of my brothers always said)!

Bautismo de Mauricio

¡Hola! Happy Mother´s Day yesterday! I hope you all had a good day!

So, this week was really good. On Monday, for P-day, we went to a family´s house in the ward and learned how to make facturas! So, I´m gonna make them when I get home! They turned out really well! Then we visited Mauricio to teach him the Restoration.

So, last Wednesday, Hermana Romeril put the baptismal date for Mauricio for this past Saturday. So, we had to teach him all of the lessons he needed to know for the baptismal interview in a week. It was good, but a bit stressful. We taught him the Restoration on Monday, on Wednesday we taught the Law of Chastity, Word of Wisdom, Law of Tithing, and Sabbath Day. On Thursday he had his interview and on Friday he got baptized. (We had to change the day because no one from the ward was going to be in town on Saturday because of a rehearsal for the cultural celebration for the temple.) I´ll talk more about the baptism later.

On Tuesday, we had to go to Córdoba so that I could do some document work for my visa. Then, when we got home, we visited Cristina. She still isn´t willing to change her work so that she can come to church, which is really sad. She is wonderful, just not willing. Then we visited Dora. She is awesome!

On Wednesday, we had district meeting in the morning. Then we had lunch with the bishop and his wife and then went to get everything planned for the baptism. That evening, we taught Mauricio.

Thursday we had to go to Córdoba again to finish my paperwork. That evening, when we got back, we visited the family V-------. They are a wonderful family! We love talking and visiting with them. Then, we went to go pick up Mauricio for his baptismal interview. But he wasn´t there. We started to panic. His dad didn´t know where he was and his aunt didn´t have his number. Luckily the elders did and they called him and he said that he could come. Whew! He had his interview and everything went well. Beforehand, Hermana Romeril and I talked to him and he said he was nervous. He thought that he had to memorize everything before his baptism. We told him not to worry. That´s not how it is. You don´t have to have every date memorized and every fact down about the church. He felt much better after that.

Mauricio with his family

Friday was the day of his baptism. We spent the morning calling people and inviting them to his baptism. After lunch, we went to the church to get everything set up. Then, it was time. Hermana Romeril was so stressed out because she wanted everything to be perfect. It wasn´t perfect, but it was perfectly imperfect. Nothing ever goes exactly to plan, but it all worked out. I also played "If You Could Hie to Kolob" for a musical number. (piano solo) When Mauricio was baptized, he was so happy. After the program was over, he started crying because he was so happy. He is awesome! He was so ready for the Gospel. Really, we didn´t do anything. He was already ready. After the refreshments, we were talking with his family who aren´t members and his mom said that she had a hard time with her health. We asked her if she would like a blessing from the elders and she accepted. After the blessing, she said that she felt so good. We were talking with her and her husband and their daughter and Hermana Romeril invited them to be baptized on the 30th of this month. And they accepted!!! It was amazing!

Saturday we contacted some references, but either they weren´t there, or their house or street didn´t exist. In the evening, we visited the family M-----. We were talking with the oldest son and he said that he didn´t want to come back to the church because he felt that so many were hypocrites. He said that he knows that he´ll be back some day, just right now, it´s not his time.

Sunday, Mauricio´s mom and dad came to church! His sister didn´t, though. We´re going to work with her. It was really awesome! In Gospel Principles, they were making comments and really participating in the lesson. It was on the Word of Wisdom, and they agreed, which is fantastic! Then we had lunch, mission prep, interviews and then I got to Skype my family! It was great to talk with you all! I wish the camera had been working and that we´d had more time! I hope you know how much I love you!

My companion and I today at Cosquin

Today, we went to Cosquín for P-day as a zone. We played cards, the elders played Frisbee, we had lunch and climbed around on some rocks by the river. It was really fun!

Anyway, I hope you all know how much I love you! Espero que todo esté bien! Les amo un montón!!!! Que tengan una re buena semana!!!

Love from,

Hermana Micaela Wilson

In the House of the Lord

¡Hola mi familia y mis amigos!

Bueno, esta semana fue un poco larga. Muchas cosas pasaron.

Tuesday we went to Los Nogales to visit Cristina. We did a catch up on how she´s been because we hadn´t visited her for a while. She showed us pictures of her family. She could talk forever if we let her. She´s so cute! That evening we visited the family Moreno. They are less active and so we are trying to bring them back. They have a daughter who is very very inactive and never before would listen to the missionaries, but she stayed and listened to us! It was great! Then we visited Alejandra and her family for un ratito. We didn´t have much time. But they told us that ever since we started visiting them, things have gotten better. Rut had some problems with her shoulder and now, it´s feeling better. David found work, and Elena´s feet feel better. Before, they would go without lunch at times. Now, they are never without food. We told them that the Lord was blessing them for what they were doing. For listening to us and doing their commitments. Then we said, if God is blessing you now, imagine how much He would bless you if you came to church. They said that they would come and Rut asked if she could have a skirt so that she could feel more comfortable in the church.

Wednesday we went to Córdoba in the morning for a "splash". (A "splash" is when they take all the missionaries from a zone and put them in one area to go contact people, or whatever the area needs.) We were there to go hand our temple invitations. We had about 15,000 card each and had to hand them out. We made it a race. Hermana Romeril and I got all of ours out in and two hours and we won!

When we got back to Jesus María, we had lunch and then went to Alejandra´s to drop of some Sunday clothes for Rut. Rut wasn´t there, but Alejandra was very grateful. Then we went to the church to meet two members who were going to go on splits with us. Hermana Romeril went with Luli and I went with Eli. Eli and I went contacting and Hermana Romeril and Luli went to our appointment with Mauricio. When we met back up, H´ Romeril told me that Mauricio committed to baptism for the 9th of May. This Saturday!!! We are so excited!!! Eli and I also got an appointment with a contact!

Thursday we traveled to Córdoba early in the morning. Then we worked all day in the temple. We worked Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Now, the open house is over. The temple was really cool. It was a great experience to work there, even though we are exhausted now. On Friday, it was a holiday, so members came from Jujuy, Salta, Mendoza, Buenos Aires, and much more to come see the temple. We started tours at 7 that day and didn´t end until 10:45. There were almost 10,000 people just on Friday!

There were a couple times, in the last tent where we answer questions, where I was alone with a group of 4-6 people and they were asking questions. And I could answer them! It was amazing! Sometimes I didn´t understand their question, so I asked them to repeat or rephrase it and they were so helpful. Then they would ask how long I´ve been here and I would tell them 2 months and they were amazed. They were like, and you can understand us? You talk really well. Anyway, it was a confidence booster. :)

Yesterday, we were so tired. We could barely stay awake in church. We felt really bad because we are the missionaries and we can´t even stay awake. The temple just wore us out. All of the sisters were exhausted. But, the meetings were good. Afterward we had interviews, district meeting, and then held a mission prep class. The members in mission prep are so excited to go on missions. One of them was a mini missionary for 6 weeks! They´re amazing!

Anyway, I´m doing well! I hope you all have a fantasmagorical week!!!
I love you so much!!!

Love from,
Hermana Micaela Wilson

P.S. Sorry I don´t have pictures again. I need to buy batteries and my companion forgot her SD card... I promise, promise that I´ll send some next week!
